Indonesia is a country located in Asia and, to a lesser extent, in Oceania (Western New Guinea, the Maluku Islands, and East Nusa Tenggara). It is the world's largest island nation and shares borders with Papua New Guinea, East Timor, and Malaysia. Indonesia has a tropical climate. The average annual temperature across the country is around 30 degrees Celsius. Depending on the monsoon, most parts of the country experience a rainy season and a dry period. The rainfall is only fairly evenly distributed throughout the year in Sumatra and Kalimantan. In December, January, and February, it rains between South Sumatra and East Timor.
