Congo, officially the Democratic Republic of the Congo, abbreviated as DRC, is a country in Central Africa. To distinguish it from the similarly named neighbouring country, the name of the capital, Kinshasa, is added to the name of the country as Congo-Kinshasa. Congo shares borders with Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania, Zambia, and Angola, among others. The climate in Congo is influenced by a variety of landscapes. In the east and south, there are plateaus and mountains, while in the west lies the lower-lying Congo Basin. This results in a variety of tropical and savanna climates.
