The southeast of Iraq is located by the Persian Gulf, and the country shares borders with Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Syria, Turkey, and Iran. The capital city is Baghdad. Iraq has a variety of dry climates, including desert climate, warm and cold steppe climate, and a temperate climate in the northern mountainous region. Generally, the country experiences extremely hot summers, with temperatures reaching up to 45 degrees Celsius. Most of the rainfall occurs from October to May, during the winter months.
