The country shares borders with Brazil, Guyana, and French Guiana, and has a coastline that stretches for 386 km. Suriname is home to a rich variety of flora and fauna, featuring swamps, hilly landscapes, and mountains. The majority of Suriname is covered by tropical rainforest, and several rivers cross the country flowing from south to north. It has a tropical climate, with temperatures ranging from 23 to 31 degrees Celsius. There is frequent rainfall, especially during the rainy season from April to August.
