What does an offshore first aider do?
This course is intended for staff working offshore. It can be tailored to meet your needs, so that it ties in with your work and the mandatory NOGEPA first aid training you have already completed. We also ensure that the training you receive can be used in practice.
As an offshore first aider, it is your job to respond quickly and effectively in the event of an accident, bridging the gap until a medical evacuation has been completed (e.g. by helicopter). Although there is a doctor available 24/7 on land to advise you, it is vital that offshore first aiders have broad medical knowledge.

Duration of the training
This is a four-day programme. If you pass, you receive a certificate that remains valid for one year, authorising you to perform the below procedures under the guidance of a back-up doctor.
Recurrent training
Our annual two-day recurrent training is designed to maintain your knowledge and skills, as well as your authorisations and competencies.
