Vaccination is a safe and effective way to prevent infectious diseases. In the Netherlands, certain vaccines are offered free of charge by the national health service. For example, the vaccinations within the national vaccination programme and the annual flu jab for people in high-risk groups. What’s more, there are vaccines that are not routinely offered by the national health service, but that people can choose for themselves. For example, for people with a particular condition or medication that places them at an individually increased risk of contracting an infectious disease. Tailor-made vaccinations such as these are available at your own expense. Tailor-made vaccinations are sometimes covered for specific medical risk groups.
In addition to travel-related vaccinations, KLM Health Services’ Travel Clinic also offers tailor-made vaccinations. This relates to the following vaccines:
- Meningococcal ACWY
- Hepatitis B
- Human papillomavirus (HPV)
