Consultation hour
During your appointment at one of our Travel Clinics you receive personal advice from one of our travel nurses, tailored to your destination.
Depending on your situation, the cost associated with a visit to the consultation hour comprises:
- Consultation costs: individual advice tailored to your personal situation
- Vaccination costs
- Vaccination booklet
- Prescription costs (for malaria pills, for example)
- Travel products from our travel shop
Consultation costs
You pay for the advice and the time reserved for you by one of our nurses and/or doctors. These costs can be (partly) reimbursed by your health insurance, depending on your specific health insurance package.
- Consultation: one of our nurses will discuss your travel goals, travel destination, length of your journey, vaccination status (vaccination booklet), medical history and (possible) use of medication. Hereafter, you will receive a personal advice and information. This consult is applicable to every new journey and is always tailored to your personal situation, even if you have planned a consultation with more than one person.
- Repeat consultation: during a repeat consultation, primarily no more advice is given. This type of consultation is mainly meant for getting a vaccination as a result of a previously discussed vaccination schedule. Therefore, the costs for this particular consultation are less than a regular consultation. However, should you have any additional questions after the first consultation, we will be more than happy to answer these for you.
- Children’s consultation: the vaccination of children will be done with care by one of our travel nurses. We will take some extra time to explain to your child what is about to happen and why it is important. For children under 15, a reduced charge applies.
- Night/ weekend fare: we charge extra on weekdays after 18:00 PM and on weekends.
Vaccination charges
You will be charged for both your consultation and vaccinations you receive accordingly. These costs can be (partly) reimbursed by your health insurance, depending on your specific health insurance package.
Vaccination booklet
During consultation hour, the nurse will check your vaccination status according to your vaccination booklet. If you do not yet have a vaccination booklet, you will receive one during consultation. You are responsible for these costs. The vaccination booklet is an important travel document if you travel to countries where vaccination against Yellow Fever is mandatory. It can also be mandatory during an application for a visa. Therefore, keep the booklet safe and take it with you to your appointment at one of our Travel Clinics and of course, during your travels.
Prescription
If you need prescription medication for your journey, we can provide this for you at our Travel Clinic at Schiphol-Centrum. Depending on the medication needed, this will either be done by one of our nurses or doctors. Just like at your general practitioner’s, you will be responsible for the charges made providing for example a malaria prescription or any other prescription.
